Can I keep empty lines?
Yes. The empty-line removal is optional.
Does it remove whitespace inside a line?
No. It only trims leading and trailing whitespace from each line, not internal spaces.
Does it work on Windows-style line endings?
Yes. CRLF line endings are normalized before processing.
