Browser-based

What this tool does

01

Read common document metadata from a PDF, change selected fields, and download a rewritten copy without sending the file to a TOOLGRID processing endpoint.

02

Metadata improves document identification but does not change visible page content.

03

Removing these fields is not a complete forensic scrub; PDFs can contain other identifiers, attachments, annotations, and embedded object metadata.

Representative tasks

Where this tool earns its place

Correct publication fields

Set the report title, authoring organization, subject, and search keywords.

Boundaries

What to check before relying on the result

  • This is not a complete metadata scrub or secure redaction tool.
  • Rewriting a signed PDF invalidates its existing digital signature.

How to use

01
01Choose a PDF and review the fields the browser library can read.
02Edit title, author, subject, creator, producer, or comma-separated keywords.
03Save a new copy and reopen it in the viewer used by your audience.
04Use a dedicated forensic tool when you need comprehensive sanitization.

Use Cases

Prepare a publication copy

Set a useful title, author, subject, and keywords before distribution.

Correct stale fields

Replace title or author values left behind by an earlier source document.

FAQ

02
Does this remove all hidden information?

No. It edits common document-info fields only and is not a forensic metadata or redaction tool.

Will visible pages change?

The tool does not intentionally alter page content, but rewriting can change internal structure and signatures.

Can it edit encrypted PDFs?

PDFs that require a password to open are not supported.
